I completed my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Binghamton University in May of 2016. Then I interned at NASA Langley in the Summer of 2016, and I've been at RPI since the Fall of 2016. My current research is in heat transfer and fluid mechanics with emphasis on energy efficiency and renewable energy. I enjoy rowing, hiking, and backpacking.
I received my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria in 2018. Then I worked in the Energy industry in Nigeria, before joining RPI in the Fall of 2021. My current research focuses on addressing heat transfer challenges using multi-layer insulation coatings.
I received my B.S. in biochemistry at Ramapo College of New Jersey, and my M.S. in chemistry at Seton Hall University. Currently, my research is in the study of thermal management relating to thin-film evaporation, specifically in the use of porous materials. I am passionate about snowboarding, scuba diving, and traveling.
I received my B.S. in Physics from the University of Connecticut in May of 2019. I began studying Mechanical Engineering at RPI in the Fall of 2019. My current research is in the study of adsorption and condensation with applications in power plants and water harvesting. I also love music and play both tenor saxophone and bass guitar in bands in the area.
I completed my bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nigeria. I joined RPI in the fall of 2018 and my current research is in heat transfer and fluid mechanics with emphasis on control of flow instabilities in microchannels. I also love soccer, table tennis, and cooking.
I received my B.Eng. in Energy, Power System and Automation from Xi’an Jiaotong University and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). My research interests include heat transfer, phase change material, thermoelectric cooling, and thermal switch.
I received my bachelor’s degree at the Hebei University of Technology and a master’s degree at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. My current research focuses on addressing heat transfer challenges in electronic cooling.
Qi Jin (Ph.D.)
Dr. Qi Jin's research was on the analysis and active control of flow instabilities in microchannel cooling systems. He was co-advised by Prof. John Wen. He joined the School of Energy and Power Engineering at the Nanjing University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Professor.
Toochukwu Aka (M.Eng.)
Toochukwu received M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2021. His research was on flow maldistribution during two-phase flow in parallel channels. He continued his research as a Ph.D. student at RPI.
Madeleine Dwyer (M.Eng.)
Madeleine, co-advised by Prof. Karyn Rogers, graduated from RPI with M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2020. Her research focused on the design of high-pressure aquatic sample collection systems.
Kangmin Cheng (M.Eng.)
Kangmin graduated from RPI with M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2019. His research focused on instabilities associated with the liquid-vapor phase-change mechanism.
Mariana Basilio (M.Eng.)
Mariana graduated from RPI with M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering in December 2017 and joined the industry. Her research was on the characterization of adsorption isotherms using a quartz crystal microbalance.
Thomas Fajardo (M.Eng.)
Thomas graduated from RPI with M.Eng. in May 2017 and joined Sikorsky as an aeronautical engineer. His research was on the fabrication and characterization of spectrally-selective surfaces for energy harvesting.
Christina Vasil (M.S.)
Christina graduated from RPI with M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2017 and joined GE as a research engineer. Her thesis was based on analyzing the effect of surface wettability on thin-film evaporation.
